{10/365} Heron

Took the puppy for a walk today on the Shelby County Greenway. She wouldn’t let me take a whole lot of shots. Oh well tomorrow is another day.

Linking up with Outdoor Wednesday.

I love herons. Whether it is seeing them in the water or flying overhead. In Mitchem’s book “Chesapeake”, the Indians called them “fishing long legs”, and that is how I always think of them now.

I didn’t know that the indian word was fishing long legs. Makes sense. I will pass this information along to my grandchildren this summer up North in Wisconsin.

Thanks. I was the only one on the trail so I guess he was just posing for me.
